MCC Wins Four Prizes of National Science and Technology Awards 2020

  On the morning of November 3, 2021, the National Science and Technology Awards Conference 2020 was held at the Great Hall of the People in Beijing by the CPC Central Committee and the State Council. Xi Jinping, Li Keqiang, Wang Huning, Han Zheng and other Party and state leaders attended the conference and presented awards to the winners. Li Keqiang spoke at the conference on behalf of the CPC Central Committee and the State Council. Four achievements led or co-completed by MCC were granted National Science and Technology Awards 2020. To be specific, directly nominated by MCC, Central Research Institute of Building and Construction (CRIBC), as the leader, won the second prize of National Technological Invention Award; Zhongye Changtian International Engineering Co., Ltd., as the second completion unit, won the first prize of National Science and Technology Progress Award; CERI and ACRE, as co-completers, respectively won the second prize of National Science and Technology Progress Award. Representatives of MCC and related winners attended the conference on invitation.

  “The key technology and application of prestressed structure service efficiency improvement” directly nominated by MCC and led by CRIBC as the first completer and the first completion unit was granted the second prize of National Technological Invention Award 2020. The main contributors from CRIBC are Zeng Bin, Xu Qing, Shang Renjie and Rong Hua. The project created a prestressed structure service performance control technology system that comprises prestressed structure whole-process performance design, life-cycle performance evaluation, and static and dynamic mechanics efficiency improvement. The main inventions and related technology have been successfully applied to more than one thousand important projects at home and abroad including a series of airport terminals, high-speed railway station buildings, stadiums, exhibition centers, industrial workshops and nuclear power containment, achieving significant economic and social benefits, and safeguarding the urban security and social development in China.

  "The Industrial Flue Gas Multi-Pollutant Collaborative Deep Treatment Technology and Application" co-completed by Zhongye Changtian as the second completion unit won the first prize of the National Science and Technology Progress Award 2020 (the main contributors from Zhongye Changtian are Ye Hengdi and Wei Jinchao). The key technology for the multi-pollutant collaborative and efficient purification of flue gas based on activated carbon in this project was independently innovated by Zhongye Changtian. So far, more than 20 sintering units at home and abroad have been equipped with activated carbon based flue gas purifiers, greatly improving the coordinated treatment level of pollutants in the iron and steel industry.

  "The Multi-Process Multi-Pollutant Ultra-Low Emission Control Technology and Application for the Steel Industry" co-completed by ACRE won the second prize of the National Science and Technology Progress Award 2020 (the main contributors from ACRE are Li Chao and Yin Hua); "The Development and Application of Technology under Heavy Pressure in the Final Stage of Solidification of Continuous Casting" co-completed by CERI won the second prize of the National Science and Technology Progress Award 2020 (the main contributors from CERI is Dai Zongling).

  As a direct nominee of the National Science and Technology Awards, MCC has recently won a number of national science and technology awards, which has greatly enhanced the group's influence in national science and technology awards. MCC science and technology work always closely follows the group development strategy, strengthens the overall layout, increases core technology research and development, continuously reserves advantageous major scientific and technological achievements and extensively applies them, and enhances guidance and promotion on science and technology awards nomination work, thus ensuring a top ranking of the group among central enterprises of metallurgy and construction in terms of science and technology awards for consecutive years, comprehensively enhancing the influence of the group in national and industry science and technology award systems, and providing strong scientific and technological support for the group’s operation and development.
