On October 18, the release of the 2020 List of Top 500 Chinese Enterprises in Charity and the 4th China Enterprise Charity Forum ("Forum" for short) kicked off in Kaifeng, Henan. With a charitable investment of 39.96 million yuan in 2019, China MCC ranks 96th among the 2020 Top 500 Chinese Enterprises in Charity, up 27 places from the previous year. With an investment of 15.79 million yuan in poverty alleviation, China MCC ranks 62nd among the 2020 Top 100 Chinese Enterprises in Poverty Alleviation, up 33 places from the previous year.
The forum was co-sponsored by the Organizing Committee of China Enterprise Charity Forum, the Kaifeng Municipal People's Government, the "Enterprise Observer" newspaper under the State-owned Assets Supervision and Administration Commission of the State Council, and the "Market Observer" magazine of the China Enterprise Directors Association. Themed with "Wealth and Responsibility—Value of the Enterprise", the forum released the 2020 List of Top 500 Chinese Enterprises in Charity and relevant analysis report, showing the positive image of Chinese enterprises in charity in the new era. The "Release of the 2020 List of Top 500 Chinese Enterprises in Charity" was broadcast on China News of CCTV-4 (CCTV International), and reported by People's Daily Online, Xinhuanet, cnr.cn, china.com.cn, and more.
In line with the important instructions of General Secretary Xi Jinping and the decisions of the CPC Central Committee, China MCC, with a strong sense of responsibility, sticks to the strategic positioning of "being the national team of metallurgical construction, a major force in capital construction, a pioneer in emerging industries, and a steadfast promoter of high-tech and high-quality development". In this way, it fulfills the social responsibility, which accords with its corporate strategy. To promote the culture of charity and create a favorable charity environment, China MCC encourages employees to partake in philanthropy, thus forming a pattern whereby the enterprise takes an active part in charity, which in turn promotes the enterprise's development. With these efforts, China MCC has won praise from all walks of life. In 2019, through innovating working mechanisms, setting forth more new ideas, and stepping up efforts in poverty alleviation assistance, China MCC purchased more characteristic agricultural products from poverty-stricken counties, and encouraged members of the labor union to boost poverty relief through consumption, thus catalyzing rural revitalization and bolstering poverty alleviation with practical actions.
Fulfilling social responsibilities demonstrates the sustainable and healthy development of an enterprise.
