On the morning of October 23, Zhang Mengxing, China MCC President and Deputy Secretary of Party Committee of MCC and China MCC warmly received Song Zhanjiang representing China First Metallurgical Group Co., Ltd. that was recently honored as "Advanced Collective and Grassroots Party Organization among Central State-owned Enterprises in Fighting COVID-19", Xu Zhongyuan with the honor of "National Advanced Individuals in Fighting COVID-19", Long Ming and Zhu Fei with the honor of "Advanced Individuals in Fighting COVID-19 of Central State-owned Enterprises". Zhang Mengxing pointed out that in the face of this soul-stirring battle against the epidemic and the arduous historical test, under the strong leadership of the CPC Central Committee with Comrade Xi Jinping at the core, all Chinese people in the same condition were united like a fortress to win major strategic results in the fight against the COVID-19. Practice has once again proved the greatness of the Chinese Communist Party, the socialist system with Chinese characteristics, and the Chinese people. With the orders and commands in mind, MCC followed General Secretary Xi Jinping’s instructions and requirements step by step and fully implemented the decisions and deployments of the CPC Central Committee. The deep faith, loyalty, and enthusiasm for taking responsibility make the bright red party flag highly wave at the forefront of MCC's epidemic prevention and control. As early as January 23, the eve of the Chinese New Year, Guo Wenqing, General Manager and Deputy Secretary of Party Committee of China Minmetals and Chairman of MCC, urgently issued a "mobilization order" in a timely response to COVID-19 pandemic, and enterprises at all levels in Wuhan area answered to the call promptly; on January 26, the second day of the Chinese New Year, an emergency teleconference was held on COVID-19 pandemic containment, requiring leading officials to perform their extraordinary duties at the special time; on February 5, a dispatch meeting of production and management was held for overseas enterprises, aiming to deploy the COVID-19 pandemic containment and production and operation at abroad in advance; afterwards, 11 thematic meetings and three investigations were respectively carried out in light of the changing COVID-19 dynamics, which boosted officials and workers' confidence and pointed out the direction for COVID-19 pandemic containment and resumption of work and production. MCC will withstand the pressure, be united and fight stubbornly. A number of advanced collectives and individuals represented by China First Metallurgical Group, Xu Zhongyuan, Long Ming, and Zhu Fei emerged, and made outstanding contributions to the fight against the COVID-19.
Zhang Mengxing emphasized that after the fight against the COVID-19, this great anti-epidemic spirit that respects life and science, unites the country, and shares the destiny has been deeply integrated into the blood of MCC people and has become the spiritual treasure for us to win victory repeatedly. Guided by this great anti-epidemic spirit, MCC focuses on the worst and strives for the best. The important time nodes are emphasized and reorganized so that the responsibility and pressure at each level can be attended to. The group makes every attempt to recapture the losses caused by the epidemic, and strives to achieve win-win in fighting against the epidemic and guaranteeing production and operation. In the first half of the year, MCC realized rapid growth against the trend in its business performance; amount of newly signed contracts, business income, total profit, net profit and other indicators hit new record highs; asset quality indicators were constantly optimized; and the enterprise kept its favorable momentum of stable growth, becoming the only enterprise with positive growth in revenue and profit among the eight central SOEs in construction. The operating indicators from January to September this year were the best growth period in recent years, which fully demonstrated the spirit of MCC people who dared to take on the responsibility and meet the challenges, and reflected the management effect of MCC in grasping all the work closely, early and accurately.
Zhang Mengxing said that these honorary titles were the highest praise from the CPC Central Committee, the State Council, and the Party Committee of the State-owned Assets Supervision and Administration Commission, which reflected their full recognition of MCC's epidemic prevention and control work. As an advanced collective and individual representative of MCC in fighting the COVID-19 pandemic, we must cherish honors, make persistent efforts so that we can transform the affirmation, care, and encouragement of the CPC Central Committee, the State Council and the Party Committee of the State-owned Assets Supervision and Administration Commission into a powerful driving force to do our job well. In the meantime, we will take the initiative to coordinate normalized epidemic prevention and control in the process of production and operation of the enterprise so as to make new and greater contributions to the quality development of high technology within the enterprise.
