On August 23, MCC Baosteel won the bid for the 6 Hot Metal Cars Manufacturing Project of Huida Automobile Transport Company of Handan Iron & Steel (Group) Co., Ltd., with a rated load of 425t which became a new record against 380t for the maximum load ranked "No. 1 in Asia" and established by MCC Baosteel in 2017, consolidating MCC Baosteel's leading position in the large-tonnage trackless hot metal transport vehicle manufacturing field.
The hot metal car with a rated load capacity of 425 t developed for this Project has a dead weight of 125 t and a maximum load capacity of 450 t; the hydrostatic drive technology is adopted to realize all-wheel steering; the loaded hydraulic buffer module is used to realize the cushioning function during operation; more than 10 patented technologies of MCC Baosteel in the field of metallurgical logistics and equipment manufacturing have been involved, and breakthroughs have been made in new technologies for energy saving and environmental protection, intelligent remote control, man-machine interaction, and safety emergency response. The hot metal car will be used to transfer 1600℃ liquid molten iron between the blast furnace and the converter; it can meet the requirements of "one tank to the end" smelting process and effectively shorten the distance between steel-making and iron-making, with the advantages of short process route and low operating cost; compared with track-type transport, this car is more flexible and maneuverable, which can save the initial investment and valuable land resources.
The bid winning of the Project fully demonstrated the brand advantages, high equipment development level and strong integrated supportability of MCC Baosteel, and laid a solid foundation for the high-quality development of MCC Baosteel's equipment manufacturing business.
